K. Karpetas: Inaugurating the alliance of the Network for Entrepreneurship in Western Greece – Signing of memorandum of cooperation with the SEVIPA

Participation of all stakeholders is of major importance for implementation of the framework of actions in administrative, operational, training, scientific, and research level to enhance business under the recent award of Region of Western Greece "European Entrepreneurial Region 2017” by the Commission of EU Regions.

At a meeting held at the offices of the Region of Western Greece Deputy Head of Regional Development and Entrepreneurship Kostas Karpetas signed together with the Chairman of the Association of Established Enterprises in Industrial Area of Patras (SEVIPA) Petros Mandas, the Memorandum of Cooperation for the creation of the Network for Entrepreneurship in Western Greece.

The Network, which is under formation these days with the participation of several stakeholders, is designed to strengthen entrepreneurship and Small Enterprises in Western Greece and objectives are, among others, to develop an advisory and supportive program for business transfers, to motivate innovative and entrepreneurial mentalities, to encourage entrepreneurial dialogue and mutual understanding and in generally, everything else appropriate.

"Our aim is to utilize as much as possible of the opportunities given to us by this Award.
The actions are possible to be achieved with cooperation between the stakeholders and the establishment of a friendly environment for entrepreneurship. In this context, the Region of Western Greece signed the first Memorandum with the SEVIPA, laying so the groundworks for the promotion of entrepreneurship in our region
", noted the Depute Head of Region K. Karpetas.

At the same time, there was a substantial discussion and briefing on issues concerning SEVIPA and its members, as well the creation of a nationwide network of Resident Enterprises in Industrial Areas of the country, based in Patras that will be supported by SEVIPA.

The meeting was attended by General Director for Development Planning, Environment and Infrastructure Dimitris Karavidas and the Head of the Department for Regional Policy Planning Spyros Papaspyrou.

We would like to remind that in Network are involved: GS Industry of the Ministry of Economy Development and Tourism, University of Patras, Chamber of Etoloakarnania, Chamber of Achaia, Chamber of Ilia, HFE of Peloponnese and Western Greece, Centre of Planning and Economic Research-CPER, Enterprise Organization of Greece, OAED, TEI of Western Greece, HOU, Occupational Federation - Craft - Trade Unions in Western Greece, SEVIPA, Western Greece Association of Technological Enterprises, Hellenic Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Western Greece ESYNE, RDFs, Special Management Service T.R. of Western Greece.
